Question Zero (Q0)

Q0 is a practical, free assessment tool developed at the AI Policy Lab at Umeå University with five categories of questions.

Published on 2026-10-14

Responsible AI begins before AI adoption. Question Zero (Q0) starts from the purpose and asks under what conditions and whether AI is the right solution to the current problem.

Q0 helps organisations to pause and ask thoughtful questions prior to the full-scale AI adoption.
