AI that really matters for the leaders: AI in leadership practices and processes, in educational settings

As emerging forces like artificial intelligence (AI) become increasingly prevalent in society, there is a growing need to better understand how this may influence leaders and their leadership. This project aims to explore interdisciplinary perspectives to deepen understandings of leadership practices and processes in the context of AI, with the objective of providing insights that can inform policymakers at various levels of governance. The research adopts a qualitative and exploratory approach. Data collection will initially involve interviews and surveys. Throughout the fellowship, there will be a focus on theory and method development across disciplines, with the aim of producing diverse examples that illustrate how educational leaders adopt and utilize AI within their leadership processes. This exploration will particularly focus on issues of autonomy, as well as key theoretical constructs of leadership such as accountability, responsibility, decision-making, and efficacy.
